Soyoung Kim (b.1992) is a moving image artist based in Seoul whose work delves into the subtle tensions between the visible and invisible, questioning the deeply rooted customs and beliefs that shape our society. Using diverse digital tools, she turns the familiar inside out, gently disrupting established orders by weaving in unexpected moments of humour. Attuned to the intrinsic textures and respirations inherent in certain images, she crafts new audio-visual narratives while expanding the boundaries of moving image works. Her practice invites audiences to engage in layered reflections on contemporary issues.
