This video juxtaposes night running along riverside and a protest in the square in Seoul using the same visual effects, blurring the line between personal pastime and political action, play and resistance. Movements are reverted to a uniform flow of data from the system’s perspective. Ultimately, the diverse bodies are absorbed into the neutral act and captured within a single rhythm. Yet, at this point, the work paradoxically suggests that when urban collective actions lose their context, the energy and rhythms generated by bodies are not simply effaced but instead open up possibilities for layered reflection.
