#000000
2016
Mostly, received audiovisual images are just a skins or shells, layered with unknown codes at their core. #000000, the hex code for black, deconstructs the social and cultural codes historically attached to black or darkness —pervasive yet elusive, manifest yet indefinable. By questioning and disrupting the conventional interplay of sound-image-text in film and video as a storytelling media, this work opens alternative ways of interpreting images through phrases failed to be converted or translated, incomplete sentences, various ambient sounds, and a combination of raw pixels and black-matte(or solid) which is neo-material in our generation.
